Popsicles

06 Jun

My mother used to make these for my sister and I when we were little. They are the BEST popsicles ever, and so simple to make. You can make them in any flavor.

Ingredients – makes about 18

1  package unsweetened Kool-Aid drink mix

1 (3 ounce) boxJello gelatin

3/4 cupgranulated sugar

2 cups boiling water

2 cupscold water

Directions

Combine the Kool-Aid, Jello and sugar. (I use a pitcher to make pouring into molds easier)
Add hot water and stir until completely dissolved.
Stir in cold water.
Pour into popsicle molds and freeze. ( You can also use small paper cups or similar, and place popsicle sticks into them when they are partially frozen.)

Molds come in so many neat options. The ones pictured above have little straws on the sides, to suck all the juice out. 🙂 and they were only $2.00 a set.

I think I like the term ice lollies better than popsicles.

NOW that my kids are all grown with kids of their own I find out I should have been mixing kool-aid with the jell-o. I always made our popsicles from the regular jell-o pack and froze it in the molds.

I’m in Australia now and they’re icy poles 🙂

Maybe you can make them for your grandbabies 🙂 I love all the different names for frozen treats!
